It can be overwhelming to figure out just how to start a diet like this. It takes a certain amount of planning & organization. Here are some suggestions we think you might find helpful.

Step 1: Order your drops. Do the 'Phase 1' detox if you're going to.

Step 2: Look over the food list for Phase 2 and purchase at least a week's worth of proteins (remember: 2 100-gram servings per day). It is recommended that your fish be fresh (and frankly, we're not sure why) but otherwise you can either purchase frozen meats or buy them fresh & freeze them yourself. It's a good idea to prepare/cook some recipes ahead and then freeze them (you can keep a day or two's servings in the fridge) so that you have protocol-approved food that can be ready to eat at a moment's notice. Also purchase a few days' worth of fruits & vegetables. Don't buy produce too far ahead so it doesn't go bad before you can eat it. Buy your bread sticks & melba toast if you're planning to eat them.

Step 3: Compile a handful of recipes that sound good to you. If you have foods that you typically crave, try to find a protocol-approved recipe that you can substitute.

Step 4: Look at your lotions, cosmetics and other personal care products to see if they contain any oil, sugar or starch.If they do, set them aside and get replacement products if needed. If you can go without them, that's fine, too. Some people find that after a week or two on the protocol, they no longer need lotion.
